Homestyling: Tips For Cutting & Maintaing a Bob Cut at Home

Long Assymetrical Bob with Flipped tips

Ever thought of cutting a bob on your own at home? Yes, you can cut a bob haircut yourself at home and achieve the same level of perfection as you would having it done at an expensive hair salon. The three most common bob cuts, the sleek one length bob cut, the flippy bob and the curly bob can all be created at home. First of all, you need to shampoo and condition your hair if needed and divide the hair into seven equal sections. Start from the front and determine the hair length, although most of the bob cuts are chin length.

Once you are done with the length of your front hair, move to the hair at the back. Make a line on your hair using a long comb or ruler and then cut straight down along the line. Work your way back from hair at back to front while keeping the symmetric length of the side, front and back hair. Trim the side and front sections of hair to keep a symmetrical look to the bob.

The front area of your bob cut is sectioned into two parts; each front section is trimmed to add to the desired bob style. The final touch involves fully drying the hair and using a flat iron straightener to straighten the hair. Bob haircuts do not have curls so the hair is straightened to the ends and any curls and waves present are removed using an iron straightener.
